Valentine's Day
As well all know Valentine's Day is quickly approaching and that means only one thing... Another opportunity for women to get everything they want for an entire weekend! Yes, I said weekend because the real Valentine's Day settles on a Tuesday this year. So guess what that means: us men will have plenty of opportunities to show our women just how much we care. Let's face it, as much as we'd like to believe Valentine's Day is just as much about the male we can't ignore the following stigma that men across the board seem to get the same gift. SEX! That's right, it seems as though women want the men to dive deep when it comes to being unique and bringing out their romantic side, but whose to say men don't want the same thing from them? Sure, there are different ways to spark some creativity in the bedroom like costumes, foreplay, prop’s; the list goes on and on. But where is the genuine thought and appreciation that says, “I love my man?”
It's funny because A-list Channing Tatum thought the same thing. He feels as though women should do something for the men. Do you feel the same? Check out this clip from the Red Carpet a year back:
When he asked his wife, Jenna, if she was going to do something for Valentine's Day for him notice how she seemed puzzled. Maybe he put her on the spot and she really had no idea what she wanted to do yet or maybe she just didn't want to spoil the surprise. Both have a high possibility of being the circumstance. But whose to say she isn't one of the traditional women who think Valentine's Day is mainly meant for women. Now, don't get me wrong, I know there are some ladies out there that definitely show their man, day in and day out, how much they appreciate them. We amend you for that, but for the rest of you I suggest coming up with a new idea to show how much you care besides the cliché "we are going to have sex." Please don't take this the wrong way, because speaking for myself I love sex and believe it's important. So I'm not saying skip the sex, but since times are changing and we are all about practicing equality, shouldn't women be more considerate when asking what men want for Valentine's Day?
Ladies don't forget at the end of the day we still are men, so maybe leave out some of the mushy stuff like long love letters, flowers and anything else that you've seen on Pinterest. Stick to the things you know we like; if he likes sports buy him tickets to go see his favorite team play, if he likes adventure toughen up, be brave and go skydiving. We aren't opposed to materialistic things either. (hint-hint) Ladies, don't settle for the average dinner and a movie. Make it exciting! Here's something else you can try that's a sure winner...just ask him what he wants! Usually, ten times out of ten when a guy says he wants something he actually wants it. That's not a shot at women either for being indecisive or always expecting us to be mind readers and thinking we'll do the opposite. After all, the purpose of Valentine's Day is to spend time and create memories with the person you love. So here is my challenge for women: do something for your man other than "putting out" because, like you, he might be expecting more.
